Sculptra

Sculptra® is a biostimulating injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, a safe, biodegradable substance that gradually stimulates your body’s own collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works over time to restore facial fullness, improve skin texture, and smooth deep wrinkles. It is ideal for hollowed cheeks, smile lines, and overall facial volume loss, creating natural-looking, long-lasting results.

Most patients require two initial treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by one maintenance treatment per year to sustain results. Effects develop gradually over several months and can last up to 2 years, offering a subtle, rejuvenated, and lifted appearance without surgery.

Microneedling
 Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, minimizing pores, and diminishing the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Microneedling promotes smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin with minimal downtime.

Microneedling with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
 Microneedling with PRP combines the benefits of microneedling with the regenerative power of your own platelet-rich plasma. During treatment, PRP is applied to the skin while micro-channels are created, enhancing healing and stimulating collagen production. This combination helps improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity more effectively than microneedling alone, providing a radiant, rejuvenated, and natural-looking glow.

PDO Threads
 PDO (polydioxanone) threads are minimally invasive, absorbable sutures used to lift, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin.

  • Smooth PDO Threads: These are primarily used for collagen stimulation, improving skin texture, fine lines, and overall skin quality. Smooth threads promote natural-looking rejuvenation by encouraging your body to produce new collagen in treated areas.

  • Barbed PDO Threads: Designed for lifting and contouring, barbed threads have tiny anchors that grasp the tissue, allowing for an immediate lift in areas such as the jawline, cheeks, and brows. Over time, they also stimulate collagen production, providing longer-lasting firmness and improved skin elasticity.

Pre- and Post-Treatment Care Instructions

Sculptra® Pre-Treatment Care

  1. Blood thinners: Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs, and fish oil 24–48 hours before treatment unless prescribed by your doctor.

  2. Hydration: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to support healthy skin and optimal results.

  3. Alcohol: Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your treatment to minimize swelling and bruising.

  4. Skin health: Ensure there are no active rashes, infections, or inflammation in the treatment area.

  5. Cold sore history: If prone to cold sores, inform your provider; antiviral medication may be recommended.

Sculptra® Post-Treatment Care

  1. Swelling/bruising: Some swelling, redness, or bruising may occur; this is normal. Cold compresses can help reduce discomfort.

  2. Massage: Gently massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days following your treatment to help evenly distribute the product.

  3. Exercise: Avoid strenuous activity for 24–48 hours.

  4. Makeup: Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours.

  5. Sun exposure: Avoid excessive sun, tanning beds, or saunas for 1 week.

Follow-up treatments: Most patients require 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, with maintenance treatments about once per year.
